A boy reported killed by Israeli fire in Gaza has been located alive, according to the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF).
Former U.S. soldier Anthony Aguilar had claimed the child, known as “Amir,” was shot after receiving food aid. The story drew global attention, amplified by U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders.
GHF now says the boy, identified as Abd al-Rahim “Aboud” Hamdan, was found with his mother outside Gaza. Photos and videos confirmed his identity.
The group said the false report highlights the spread of misinformation in wartime and pledged continued humanitarian aid efforts.
