LONDON – Boxer Floyd Mayweather was attacked by a mob in central London after expressing support for Jewish people, according to a report by the Daily Mail on Tuesday. Mayweather, who was shopping at a jewelry store in Hatton Garden, was approached by a crowd. When asked about his stance on Israel, he replied, “I’m proud to support the Jews.”
This statement reportedly sparked an altercation, with one individual in the crowd attempting to punch Mayweather. A source described how Mayweather’s security team worked to create distance between him and the attackers, while Mayweather himself was seen shouting back at the crowd. Videos of the incident circulated on social media, showing Mayweather being escorted out of the store.
The attack comes after Mayweather announced a charity initiative on Sunday to support Israeli orphans. In a post on Instagram, he revealed plans for the “Floyd Mobile” to visit every orphan in Israel over the next year, bringing birthday gifts and honoring the memory of those who have passed.
Mayweather is set to visit Israel in March 2024, further reinforcing his support for the country and its people.
