Israel has intensified its military operations in Gaza, opening a new 15-kilometer corridor through Khan Younis and targeting key Hamas figures and infrastructure.

The corridor, named Magen Oz, bisects Khan Younis east to west. The IDF says it plays a “major part in exerting pressure on Hamas,” with the 188th Armored and Golani Brigades recently linking up in the area.

Over 120 targets across Gaza were hit by Israeli airstrikes in the past day, including tunnels, weapons caches, and operative cells. In Jabalia, a drone strike eliminated militants who had fired on a tank.

The IDF also reported success in Beit Hanoun, where a rocket-launching site was destroyed and operatives planting bombs were neutralized.

Separately, a report from Asharq Al-Awsat said Israel has ramped up targeted assassinations, killing top Hamas commanders and Islamic Jihad members. Among the dead was Mohammed Faraj al-Ghoul, a former Hamas minister involved in intelligence and weapons development.

Meanwhile, Germany and its allies warned that UN sanctions on Iran could “snap back” if no diplomatic progress is made this summer on the nuclear issue.
