Hamas has stated that it remains open to negotiations despite Israel launching its most intense strikes on Gaza since a January 19 ceasefire.

“Hamas has not closed the door on negotiations, but we insist there is no need for new agreements,” Hamas official Taher al-Nunu told AFP from Cairo. He also called for Israel to be pressured into upholding the ceasefire.

Israel said it carried out the strikes after Hamas refused to extend the ceasefire by releasing additional hostages.
