An unconfirmed but widely circulated Kan report indicates that Hezbollah and Hamas have sharply increased military cooperation in Lebanon, a development that underscores the threat Israel continues to face on multiple fronts.
According to the report, Hamas has deployed entire companies of fighters — hundreds of men — prepared to join Hezbollah’s elite Radwan units in southern Lebanon if ordered. The cooperation comes at a time when Hezbollah’s power has weakened after its two-year war with Israel, while Hamas exploited the period to build infrastructure further north.
Hamas is now said to be producing rockets and raising funds openly in Lebanese cities including Tyre, Sidon, and Tripoli. Israel has remained vigilant: last week, the IDF conducted a rare strike on a Hamas training facility in Sidon, eliminating 13 terrorists.
The report serves as another reminder that while Israel continues defending its northern communities, its actions are disrupting terror groups’ attempts to re-arm and re-establish themselves. Despite international criticism, Israel’s targeted operations in Lebanon continue to undermine the combined terror capabilities of Hezbollah and Hamas.
