On Sunday, Hezbollah launched over 250 rockets and drones at northern and central Israel, leaving several people injured. The first salvo hit northern Israel in the morning, with a man in his 60s seriously wounded by shrapnel in Kfar Blum, and two men in Haifa lightly injured. A factory in Ma’alot-Tarshiha also sustained damage from earlier rockets.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) intercepted some of the rockets, including two drones, while others hit open areas. In the afternoon, a barrage targeted central Israel, with rockets striking Petah Tikvah and Rinatya, causing damage to homes and injuring a 70-year-old woman from smoke inhalation after a car caught fire. Several others were treated for anxiety and minor injuries.

The attacks were part of a continued escalation, with Hezbollah targeting cities as far south as Netanya and Herzliya. In response, the IDF carried out airstrikes on Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, including a rocket launcher used in the Haifa attack.

The violence follows ongoing clashes between Hezbollah and Israeli forces in southern Lebanon, and amid efforts by Israel and the U.S. to negotiate a potential ceasefire. Since October 2023, over 12,400 rockets have been launched at Israel from Lebanon, resulting in numerous casualties.
