The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) responded Sunday to a report from Ynet suggesting that humanitarian aid deliveries to Gaza could resume in the coming weeks, even as fighting continues and no hostage deal has been reached.
In a statement, the IDF emphasized that it operates under the directives of the political leadership and made clear that “Israel is not and will not be providing any aid to Hamas.”
According to Ynet, the anticipated aid—comprising food, fuel, and medicine—aims to prevent violations of international law and protect Israeli military commanders from future legal complications related to the ongoing operation.
The IDF reportedly advised the government that resuming limited humanitarian supplies may soon become necessary. The decision is seen as a measure to maintain legal and ethical standards while continuing military efforts in Gaza.
