The IDF says Israeli forces killed four terror operatives who emerged from tunnels in eastern Rafah early this morning, an area under IDF control and believed to contain dozens of Hamas fighters.
Troops spotted the cell exiting the underground network and, together with the Israeli Air Force, engaged and killed all four. Defense officials say they are working to confirm identities amid suspicions that the group included the commander of Hamas’s East Rafah Battalion and his deputy, a potentially significant operational gain.
The incident comes as Israeli forces continue efforts to neutralize remaining Hamas cells trapped in Rafah’s tunnel systems.
