The Israeli Air Force launched fresh airstrikes on Houthi positions in Yemen’s Hodeida region in response to recent missile and drone attacks, officials confirmed Monday.

Since July 7, the Iran-backed Houthis have launched at least six ballistic missiles and several drones at Israel. The new Israeli strikes are aimed at curbing these assaults and dismantling the Houthi military infrastructure.

The Houthis, who control much of northern Yemen, have stepped up attacks as regional tensions rise, particularly amid ongoing conflict involving Syria and Lebanon.

Damage assessments in Hodeida are still underway.
