The Israel Air Force (IAF) launched a series of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon following a weekend of rocket fire from the region into northern Israel. The strikes focused on key Hezbollah infrastructure in Beirut and Tyre, including weapons storage and command centers.
On Saturday, the IDF confirmed the death of Sergeant Ori Nisanovich, 21, who was killed in combat in southern Lebanon while serving in the Golani Brigade. Meanwhile, IAF airstrikes targeted Hezbollah’s stronghold in Beirut’s Dahiyeh district, prompting evacuation warnings to civilians in nearby areas, including Haret Hreik and Ghobeiry.
The IDF also conducted operations in southern Lebanon, destroying weapons depots, tunnels, and rocket launchers used in attacks on Israel. These operations involved airstrikes, tank fire, and raids by the Commando Brigade, uncovering a significant cache of rockets and explosives intended for use against Israeli targets.
As tensions escalate, the U.S. is working to broker a truce between Israel and Hezbollah. Despite ongoing military actions, the IDF emphasized its intent to minimize harm to civilians, urging those near Hezbollah targets to evacuate.
