Israel’s National Security Council (NSC) has issued a stark warning to Israelis and Jews worldwide ahead of the Jewish holiday season, citing a heightened risk of attacks by Iran-backed groups such as Hamas and Hezbollah, as well as global jihadi organizations including ISIS and al-Qaeda.

The updated assessment highlights October 7—the second anniversary of Hamas’s massacre in southern Israel—as a potential flashpoint for attacks. The NSC warns that this date could inspire both organized operations and lone-wolf assaults targeting Jewish and Israeli communities abroad.

The report stresses that Iran remains a central driver of these threats, emboldened by its recent confrontation with Israel. Hamas, too, is expanding its operations beyond Gaza, building terror networks overseas to strike Jewish targets.

Alongside organized plots, officials note a surge in violent antisemitic incidents worldwide, fueled by anti-Israel incitement and disinformation campaigns online.

The NSC urges Israelis abroad to exercise extreme caution: avoid wearing visible Jewish or Israeli symbols, refrain from speaking Hebrew in public, steer clear of unsecured gatherings, and be mindful of what they post on social media.

Travel to high-risk countries—including Iran, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and Sinai—is strictly forbidden, while trips to Turkey, Jordan, and Egypt are strongly discouraged.

In case of potential threats, Israelis should immediately contact local security forces and notify the NSC hotline at +972-2-6667444.

This warning underscores Israel’s determination to protect its citizens worldwide while reminding Jewish communities to remain vigilant during a sensitive and dangerous season.
