Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Steve Witkoff, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump’s designated envoy to the Middle East, during a surprise visit. The meeting follows Witkoff’s optimistic remarks about the ongoing talks, expressing hope for an agreement before Trump’s January 20 inauguration.

Witkoff emphasized the urgency of the negotiations, stating, “President Trump is determined. He empowers us to act decisively, and decisive action means we must get this done.”

The Israeli delegation to Qatar reportedly includes Mossad chief David Barnea, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, and Maj. Gen. Nitzan Alon, signaling the significance of the discussions.
