Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked former President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for imposing sanctions on four International Criminal Court (ICC) judges.

“Thank you President Trump and Secretary of State Rubio for imposing sanctions against the politicized judges of the ICC,” Netanyahu’s office said in a statement. “You have justly stood up for the right of Israel, the United States, and all democracies to defend themselves against savage terror.”

The sanctions come amid heightened tensions between Israel and the ICC, which has faced criticism from Netanyahu and others over its investigations into alleged war crimes involving Israeli military actions.

The move marks a renewed push by Trump and his allies to challenge the authority of international institutions they view as overreaching or biased against U.S. and Israeli interests.
