Hamas has confirmed that senior political official Salah al-Bardawil was killed in an Israeli airstrike overnight in Khan Younis, southern Gaza. Reports indicate that Bardawil’s wife was also among the casualties.

Bardawil was a prominent figure in Hamas’s political wing, frequently appearing in media interviews. His death follows a series of targeted Israeli strikes that have eliminated multiple high-ranking Hamas officials in recent days, including Essam Addalees, head of the group’s de facto government, and internal security chief Mahmoud Abu Watfa.

According to Hamas-run medical authorities, at least 19 people were killed in the overnight strikes, including several women and children. The European and Kuwaiti hospitals in Gaza have confirmed the death toll, though it remains unclear how many were combatants versus civilians.
