Israel’s Supreme Court ruled on Monday to release Eliezer Feldstein, the main suspect in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) security leak scandal, to house arrest. Feldstein, along with an unnamed reserve IDF NCO, had been in custody since late October.

The NCO will remain in detention, as the court did not approve the release. Both individuals were involved in the ongoing investigation into the leak, which raised concerns about national security.

Feldstein’s release to house arrest follows a decision by the Tel Aviv Regional Court, which cited the suspects’ cooperation with the investigation and expressions of regret. Judge Ala’a Masarwa acknowledged the potential risk related to their ties with the PMO but ruled that house arrest was a suitable alternative to continued detention.

Last week, the State Attorney’s Office announced plans to appeal the district court’s decision, but the Supreme Court has upheld the ruling for now. The investigation into the leak continues, with authorities scrutinizing the involvement of both suspects.
