Three Uzbek nationals accused of killing Rabbi Zvi Kogan in the United Arab Emirates last year have been sentenced to death, Israeli sources report. However, UAE authorities have not officially confirmed the ruling.
Kogan, a 28-year-old Chabad rabbi, went missing in Dubai in November 2024. Days later, his body was discovered in the city of Al Ain, near the Oman border. The suspects, arrested in Turkey, were allegedly planning to kidnap Kogan and take him to Oman, but their plan was disrupted, according to The Wall Street Journal.
While Israeli officials do not believe the attack was directly orchestrated by Iran, they classify it as an act of terror.
Kogan’s friend, Tzvi Grinhaim, called the sentencing “historic.”
