President Donald Trump said Friday that while he hopes Israel and Iran can eventually reach a ceasefire, he believes “sometimes they have to fight it out.”

Speaking to reporters before departing for the G7 summit in Canada, Trump expressed optimism about a possible resolution, saying, “I think there’s a good chance there will be a deal.” However, he did not confirm whether he has urged Israel to pause its military campaign.

The comments come amid escalating violence between the two nations, with Israel launching hundreds of strikes on Iranian military and nuclear sites in recent days. The U.S. has expressed continued support for its ally but has stopped short of calling for an end to the conflict. Israel has clearly been dominating the war and the Iranian regime shockingly seems to be teetering on the brink of collapse with almost all of it’s top leaders being eliminated.

Trump’s remarks reflect a wait-and-see approach, suggesting that the fighting may be a necessary step toward a broader resolution.
