U.S. officials believe Israel is poised to launch a military strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities, potentially within days, according to reports from NBC and CBS News. The developments come as nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran remain scheduled for Sunday, but with dwindling optimism.

Concerns over possible retaliation prompted the U.S. to evacuate nonessential personnel from military and diplomatic posts in the region. President Donald Trump admitted his confidence in securing a deal with Iran has declined, citing Iran’s insistence on continuing low-level uranium enrichment.

A senior Iranian official told Reuters that a regional ally warned Tehran of an imminent Israeli attack. Iran vowed to stand firm in negotiations, insisting on its right to enrichment.

NBC reported that Israel is considering a unilateral strike due to fears that the U.S. might settle for a deal that doesn’t require Iran to fully end enrichment. American sources say there are no current plans to assist Israel militarily, but U.S. forces remain on high alert.

CBS News added that Israel is “fully ready” to act, and that Iran is preparing for retaliation, including attacks on U.S. bases in the region. Iran also warned it would launch hundreds of missiles at Israel if attacked, echoing similar actions from last October.

Asked about the regional drawdown, Trump said, “It could be a dangerous place,” and reiterated his stance: “They can’t have a nuclear weapon. Very simple.”

Meanwhile, maritime authorities warned ships in the region of potential fallout from rising military tensions, as diplomacy teeters on the brink of conflict.
