The United States warned that Tuesday could be the most intense day of military strikes against Iran since the war began.

Speaking at the Pentagon, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the campaign against Iran is entering a powerful new phase.

“The most fighters, the most bombers, the most intelligence — more defined and better than ever,” Hegseth said.

The war began when the United States and Israel launched a joint campaign targeting Iran’s nuclear program, missile capabilities, and military infrastructure.

American forces have already carried out more than 5,000 strikes in the first ten days of the war, hitting missile facilities, weapons factories, naval assets, and military bases.

According to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Dan Caine, more than 50 Iranian naval vessels have also been targeted as the US works to weaken Iran’s ability to threaten shipping routes.

One major goal of the campaign is to destroy Iran’s missile stockpiles and launch systems, while also eliminating its capacity to develop nuclear weapons.

Hegseth emphasized that the United States will continue striking Iranian targets until the threat is neutralized.

“We will not relent until the enemy is decisively defeated,” he said.

The US military is also targeting vessels capable of laying naval mines that could disrupt international shipping.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that ultimately the Iranian people themselves must decide whether to overthrow their government.

“Our aspiration is for the Iranian people to throw off the yoke of tyranny,” Netanyahu said.

Israeli airstrikes have recently targeted weapons development sites in Tehran, including underground facilities linked to ballistic missile research at an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps complex.

Israeli officials say the new phase of the war is designed to strike at the core military infrastructure of Iran’s regime.
