On the eve of a critical dismissal hearing, Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara announced possible charges against two senior officials close to PM Netanyahu and Minister Ben Gvir.

Jonatan Urich, a key media adviser to Netanyahu, may be indicted for leaking top-secret military information in an effort to sway public opinion during hostage negotiations. Prosecutors say he may have endangered national security by giving classified material to the press.

Israel Prison Service Chief Kobi Yaakobi, a Ben Gvir ally, faces obstruction and breach of trust charges for allegedly tipping off a fellow officer under secret investigation for covering up Jewish extremist crimes.

Both deny wrongdoing. Coalition officials say the timing is political, while Baharav-Miara’s office maintains the decisions were based solely on legal merit.
