Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held rare back-to-back press conferences Sunday, defending Israel’s plan to seize Gaza City as essential for defeating Hamas and freeing remaining hostages.
Netanyahu rejected claims that Israel is starving Gaza’s civilians, calling them part of a “global campaign of lies” led by Hamas. He cited aid statistics and accused the UN of distribution failures. He also dismissed Palestinian statehood as a solution, claiming both Hamas and the Palestinian Authority aim to destroy Israel.
The prime minister said Israel will establish a postwar “civilian administration” in Gaza, but only after Hamas is disarmed.
