Israel is demanding Hamas immediately return the body of fallen IDF officer Lt. Hadar Goldin, after the terror group signaled—without confirming—that it had located his remains. A diplomatic official said Israel views Hamas’s delay as a “grave violation” of the ceasefire agreement.
Goldin was killed and abducted during the 2014 Gaza war, in an attack carried out by Hamas amid a declared ceasefire. For years, his family has campaigned for the return of his body.
Crowds gathered Saturday outside the Goldin family home in Kfar Saba, expressing support and frustration as Hamas continued to withhold information. Israel says it has received no timeline, confirmation, or credible communication from Hamas regarding when—or if—the remains will be returned.
Officials reiterated that Israel’s demand is unequivocal: “His return must be immediate.”
