During a meeting at the White House, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Riyadh wants to join the Abraham Accords but insisted the move must be tied to a “clear path” toward a two-state solution with the Palestinians.

Seated beside US President Donald Trump, the crown prince said they held a “healthy discussion” about normalization with Israel but emphasized that Saudi public sentiment — especially after the Gaza war — requires concrete political steps toward Palestinian statehood.

Trump acknowledged the discussion but avoided committing to specific terms, saying the leaders would continue talks.

Bin Salman’s comments come as Saudi Arabia signals readiness to support Gaza reconstruction and maintain engagement on Palestinian issues. Yet Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have repeatedly rejected the creation of a Palestinian state in recent weeks, complicating the path to normalization.

Meanwhile, the US and Saudi Arabia announced major agreements during the visit, including a civil nuclear partnership and Trump’s approval of a future sale of F-35 fighter jets to Riyadh — despite longstanding concerns over preserving Israel’s military edge.

The crown prince also stressed that Saudi Arabia wants peace for both Israelis and Palestinians but offered no immediate timeline for joining the accords.
