Former Israeli intelligence asset Jonathan Pollard says the events surrounding the October 7 attack proved that Israel’s political system needs a complete rebuild — not out of despair, but out of responsibility to the Jewish people.
In a candid interview with Kan Radio, Pollard said Israelis were “abandoned and betrayed” on October 7, and that the entire current leadership — “left, right, and center” — should be replaced by new figures unafraid to defend Israel’s security interests without hesitation.
Pollard emphasized that Israel must be led by people who put Jewish lives above foreign pressure. He pointed to the now-well-known moment when U.S. President Donald Trump forced Israel to call back fighter jets headed toward Iran during the June 2024 war. According to Pollard, “A truly decisive prime minister would have said: ‘We’ll finish the mission, and then we’ll get back to you.’”
Although Pollard once voiced that he could not imagine a better prime minister than Netanyahu, he now says that statement was “naive.” Today, he believes Israel can and must bring forward stronger leadership — leaders who will never hesitate when Israeli security is at stake.
