Emergency crews rescued a family of three after their van was overtaken by fast-moving floodwaters in southern Israel, authorities said.
The parents and their child were traveling through Abu Joda, a small Bedouin village near Kseifa, east of Beersheba, when sudden flash flooding trapped their vehicle in a streambed. Rising waters quickly reached windshield level, placing the family in immediate danger.
Fire and Rescue Service teams used an inflatable raft to reach the stranded van and safely extract all three occupants. They were taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries.
Authorities also confirmed that three additional people who became trapped by floodwaters in nearby Nahal Halmut, west of Beersheba, were rescued without serious harm.
Officials are once again urging the public to avoid driving through flooded areas, warning that flash floods can develop rapidly and become life-threatening within minutes.
