A Palestinian man drove his car into a bus stop at the Gush Etzion Junction in the West Bank on Sunday evening, injuring two teenage girls before being shot dead by an IDF soldier.

Magen David Adom identified the victims as a 17-year-old, seriously wounded with injuries to her lower body, and a 15-year-old with moderate facial injuries. Both were transported to hospital for treatment.

The attacker, a 30-year-old from the Hebron area, was killed by a sergeant from the Kfir Brigade’s Nahshon Battalion. The soldier then rendered emergency care for the wounded girls, applying a tourniquet to the more seriously injured teen. IDF West Bank division chief Brig. Gen. Kobi Heller praised the sergeant for his response both during and after the attack.

Violence in the West Bank has escalated since the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack. The Palestinian Authority reports over 1,000 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces or settlers since then, while over 65 Israeli civilians and security personnel have been killed in terror attacks during the same period.
