Hezbollah Says Iran Will Press for IDF Withdrawal in Next US Talks

Hezbollah has received assurances from its patron Iran that Tehran will demand a withdrawal of Israeli troops from Lebanon during the next phase of its talks with the United States, the group’s media relations office told Reuters.

According to Hezbollah, an Israeli withdrawal would be an outcome of those negotiations rather than a precondition for them. The talks are set to continue after Iran and Washington sign a memorandum of understanding on Friday. The group said there would be “no nuclear deal between Iran and the United States unless the Israelis withdraw” from Lebanon.
